Figured I could say what all happened and why this site is here.
In January of 2010 I was looking through many YouTube videos for a Windows ME VHD since I wanted to try out the OS. At the time I knew nothing about torrenting and figured YouTube was my only answer. A few videos in I saw links to http://vhd.weebly.com/ when the site was branded "Bamboogle's Virtual PC." Every link on the site was taken down except a Windows 2000 ISO that was hosted by Megaupload. I had contacted the current owner of the site and said I was willing to help and keep the site online. After our few emails back and forth I had the user account and password. It was mine.
I then found out about the world of torrenting and The Pirate Bay. This was a key role in the resurrection of Bamboogle's Virtual PC as my goal was to download the ISOs and upload them to Megaupload to fulfill my goal of a torrent-free site with easy to use downloads.
All was going well until summer hit. There was an active forum, all the downloads were online, 2k page views per month, my YouTube was growing and I had 2 partners with me on the team. By then the site was renamed "VHD Vault" as a name suggestion by a user on the forum.
Well in July of 2010, I was super sad when one of the partners told me he had to shut down VHD Vault due to the NYPD contacting him (which was complete bullshit, I found this out in 2011). My pride and joy was ruined. When the site went down members went and attacked my YouTube videos with retarded comments and 1-star rating them. It was so bad I ended up deleting my YouTube account.
By this time many people were trying to make copycats of the site, all were shut down in a relatively small amount of time.
I had one tool that would ruin each and every person's copycat site. The Megaupload links. They all linked to the original files I used. One day I was so pissed off I deleted every Megaupload file there was from my account. After this, all the pricks who were bitching about me said they were sorry. Take that motherfuckers.
Megaupload was shut down by the FBI in January of 2012 and a year later has been relaunched as Mega. This is what I plan to use for the future of VHD Vault just as I did with Megaupload years ago.
